Born and raised in Thailand, Daow Holmes always dreamed of coming to America for a better life—but God had a greater plan. In 1988, she moved to the United States after marrying James Martin of West Columbia, Texas.
While adjusting to her new life, Daow was introduced to Jesus for the first time at Gulf Coast Christian Center. Coming from a Buddhist background, her decision to accept Christ transformed her life completely. She grew in faith, learned English, and became active in church ministry. After her husband’s passing in 1992, Daow continued to trust God’s plan and serve faithfully.
As her faith deepened, Daow began praying for her family in Thailand to know Jesus. Over time, her mother and sister came to Christ, and soon a small house church began meeting in her mother’s home in Supsomboon. This gathering, which reflects the rich church history in Thailand, has grown into a thriving local congregation.
In 2014, Daow married Michael Holmes, a man who shares her passion for ministry. Together, they now lead efforts to reach the people of Supsomboon, Thailand—spreading the love of Christ and growing the Supsomboon Christian Center that was born from prayer and faith. They also encourage others to volunteer in Thailand, furthering their mission to share the gospel.
